Workshop (W1): Chemicals Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment

The course covers the analysis of hazards and risk assessments. It examines ways for improving the safety of the plant at the process design stage. It also examines the hazard and operability study [HAZOP] and fault tree analysis [FTA] and the way in which safety studies can be integrated within the design process.

Day 4: Wednesday: 20-04-2011.	Timings: 9:00 A.M - 2:00 P.M
Workshop (W2): Safe Handling of Industrial Chemicals
The course covers the safe handling of industrial chemicals: explosions, runaway reactions, occupational health and environment protection. Other topics include flammability, sources of ignition including explosion venting; assessment of runaway reaction, hazards and pressure relief; occupational medicine, toxicology, epidemiology and the COSHH regulations; and environmental auditing.
